Barcelo Torre Arias - Madrid, Spain

This was my first trip to Madrid. I booked this hotel for first 2 days directly from barcelo hotels website. I got the room for discounted price, 49€ for night including breakfast, (taxes not inc). Taxi dropped my in front of the hotel and I had to look for the entrance. Hotel Torre Arias is quite new hotel and they haven´t had time to get hotel signs in place. Hotel lobby was clean, very nicely furnished. Room itself was very euro chic design with electric curtain in window and lcd TV (no pay TV ). Breakfast was good although I usually don´t have appetite in mornings. Location of Torre arias isn´t very good for turists. Nearest metro staton is located over 1km away. The area where hotel is situated is somesort of bisnes district of Madrid. There were no noise from traffic but soundproofing of rooms isn´t as good as it could be. I woke up one night because somebody was walking on high-heels in room above mine. I think that this hotel stay was worth of 110€ I payed for 2 nights. Normal room price is around 100-120 euros/day which is high for turists because of distant location but bisness travellers this hotel offers very chic experiece and you will not be distrurbed from traffic noise. And rooms are equipped with wlan and adequate working space.

Hotel estupendo. Muy agradable y c?modo. Muy recomendable por el silencio y el estado de las habitaciones. Para llegar en metro y con equipaje est? un poco lejos de la estaci?n de metro (Ciudad Lineal). Aprox. a unos 10 minutos. En fin de semana es sencillo encontrar aparcamiento en los alrededores y sin zona azul de por medio. Por lo dem?s, repetir?a sin duda la estacia en este hotel.

En fin de semana es sencillo encontrar aparcamiento en los alrededores y sin zona azul de por medio. Por lo demás, repetiría sin duda la estacia en este hotel.

A nice place with computer in the lobby for free email, an ATM only 10 feet from the lobby door, and a nice little coffee shop about 40 feet away. Also, a grocery store half a block up. Very nice room, really clean and really nice. We got there before noon due to airline schedule, and they were nice enough to let us check in. One caution--if you are taking cab from airport, take a map for the driver. Our driver did not know where it was and actually left the cab at a red light to ask another cab driver for directions. The trip from the airport was 23 Euro, the hotel called a cab for the return to the airport and that was only 17 Euro--the desk clerk told me the drivers they use would know the better way. Desk clerks did quite well with English, were able to direct us to subway (15 minute walk) and a mall where there are some eating places (across from subway). I wished we could have stayed here on return trip and I should have booked it when I booked arrival--the rates via their web site were quite a bit higher and I could not get the departure night via Hotwire. I would gladly stay there again and would recommend this place to anyone. Very pleasant.
