It's a European thing I don't understand as an American. Europeans are supposed to have relaxed attitudes toward "relations" yet 50% of hotel rooms on our trip call a double bed two single beds put together. This is NOT a double bed. We asked for a room with a (real) double bed if possible. U.S. hotels all have either 1 or 2 double beds and never a single bed. Yes this is a rant ... but otherwise my wife and I had no complaints. The staff was helpful; the breakfast buffet, location near restaurants, wonderful. Europeans, help me to understand why Euro hotels don't have double beds. Thanks.
Excellent receptionist services, clean modern rooms and good location for metro lines and other tourist locations. Good healthy Asian fusion cuisine offered at a restaurant called the "Wok" in the Plaza de Espana by Starbucks which is about 3 blocks from the hotel. We stayed 5 nights in Madrid and went to Toledo and El Escorial which was well worth the time.
Really nice hotel - excellent, fresh and spacy rooms with small kitchen zone, new furniture, excellent staff.
A little bit overpriced breakfast but there are a lot of places to eat arround.
Just 5 minutes walk to Plaza de Espana so location is very good.
good value for money. Internet in room didn't work so had to use the one computer terminal in lobby. Bed was a bit hard. no utensils to use in the lovely little kitchenette. Close to buses and metro and the theatre district.
