This is a spacious, comfortable, business hotel, located close to the airport and main exhibition centre. The area is quiet at night, so good for those wishing to sleep, but not so good for those wishing to check out the night life. The hotel doesn't have a huge amount of character, but is nevertheless a pleasant place to stay. One big advantage is that it is very close to a metro station, giving easy access both to the airport and to central Madrid. It also has a huge park right on the doorstep.
Try and stay on the 4th floor - one of the executive floors. Luxurious comfortable beds, with a pillow menu, great shower, shame there was no bath however. Good location to the Fiere de Madrid and metro. All in all a very good Sofitel experience.
Large rooms, fine amenities, pay for wi-fi unlike city hotels but very much like USA hotels. Free drink with membership is only for wine or beer with cocktails more expensive than I have seen anywhere in the world, including the Waldorf=Astoria...plus, the bartender does not know how to make a martini. Dinner at the connecting Novotel was one of the worst experiences we have had in our lives. Hotel would not let our son stay with us (cot, sofabed, suite) so we had to book two rooms, although the rate was reasonable. Very convenient to airport with shuttle.
