"Good value hotel in central position"

A well located hotel in a quiet street in central Madrid nr the Opera. Stayed in December 05 and received room upgrade to junior suite. Cost approx ?170 for 2 nights for 2 people. Nicely appointed rooms with good standard of decoration and good maid service. Good plentiful breakfasts in large dining room. Didn't take any evening meals as preferred to eat out in Madrids choice of many reasonably priced bars. Helpful reception staff who ironed out a problem when local taxi firm (Aerocity) fouled up on return journey to airport. Small but comfortable lounge used to take very generous nightcaps. Car parking is available in a small multi-storey directly opposite the hotel.

Hotel centrally situated able to walk to all main tourist sites. For a small additional fee our room was upgraded to top floor with large balcony overlooking the Opera house. The rooms were very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was provided at additional cost far too expensive considering food provided. We had better value for money at the Opera cafe just few yards down the street. Would definately stay again if back in Madrid.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. I had read some of the reivews before we left and was a little apprehensive. However, my husband and I stayed there for six nights in April and found the sataff to be courteous and very helpful. We paid 20 Euros a day extra for an upgraded room and the money spent was well worth it. The room was very spacious. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast. and found the food to be of very good quality. I would definitely recommend this property.
