3My wife and I trusted that our travel agent books us a "good" hotel for our honeymoon.
After arriving to Madrid's airport, we took a taxi to the "Hotel Ingles" and stopped at the hotel's desk to register and to ask for our room.
After the paperwork was signed, I conversed with the manager, an old gentleman, in a friendly and candid manner. I told him that my wife and I just got married, and that this was our honeymoon.
He replied "pedantically", and I emphasize this, for no aparent reason and in a rude tone of voice, that he is not intersted in the details of my stay there. He also added that for whatever reason I was in the hotel, that it was my business and not his. Boy, Was that rude! specially comming from a high employee of the hotel like he was.
I felt insulted, and disrespected for his coldness, lack of empathy, and lack of good manners. Another desk clerck was beside him, and I was surprised and angry to see that he also approved his boss' attititude. What is wrong with these people. I did nothing to deserve his attitude. His attitude took me completely by surprise. He left me a bad impression of the Hotel Ingles and sour first impression of Spain.
I only stayed that night. The time it took me to find a friendlier hotel. This is my first impression of Spain! Thank's God I discovered that the Spaniards are not as rude as this fellow.
