We missed a connecting flight when we were travelling from england to cuba in august and British Airways put us up here as it was their fault (cr*p airline). The hotel was great and the staff were really helpful. We had a suite as it was our honeymoon and the room was lovely. So although we didn't want to be there, our stay wasn't too bad thanks to the quality of the hotel and the manners of the staff.

This hotel is good if you need to stay near the airport for a long layover or quick business meeting. If you're going to visit madrid and the sights it is not good for that purpose. It is not close to any mass transit. You have to rely only on the shuttle service which is unreliable or taxi which is very expensive. Shuttle service runs only once an hour on the hour, and if it's full you are out of luck until the next shuttle an hour later. Customer service was terrible and I speak Spanish, so it wasn't a language barrier issue. This hotel is not close to anything, not even other restaurants, so if you plan on eating at the on site restaurant be prepared to pay through the nose, the food was great and so was service, but they're the only food around so they can charge whatever.
