There are rooms in different conditions. Some of the rooms are well renovated with several insulating windows. Some are old. Rooms on the front may be better insulated against noise than rooms on the back. We usually don't ask for a room on the street side but in this case it was a very good surprise (We suggest to ask for room 411). Don't hesitate to ask for another one if you don't like something in the room which was given to you. The personnel is friendly and will accept reasonable demands. Thanks to the central position of this hotel (Madrid Vision buses stop across the street, metro and bus stations) and to the gentleness of the personnel, our stay was wonderful. We will definitely choose this hotel again for our future stays in Madrid.

We asked for a non-smoking room, but we were given the opposite. Before checking in, we asked the rates for the stay at the hotel, we were asked 173 euros + 7% tax, per night with no breakfast. Through venere we paied about 118 per night.. The clercks were not friendly. The hotel is very well located, near museums, restaurants, city center and all the best shopping areas. If you like italian you can go to Ginos (nice and cheap), if you like american you can stroll to plaza de espanha and there's a friday's, if you like sandwich you can go to rodilla, and all the fast food joints are also available. The hotel is old fashioned, and no link to gaudi is present except for some copy's of his paintings. I believe you can get better hotels just 2 blocks away for better prices.

Great hotel even if the room decor was a little old fashioned. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is perfect.
