after registering and paying for the 4-night stay with my bank card, i was shown to a room the size of large broom closet just in front of the desk and adjacent to the entrance. When i asked for a quieter room further away, I was given a room the size of a normal broom closet. Having been told the hotel was non-smoking, I had to put up with the cigarette smoke coming from the room next door and the "lounge" down the hall, being told "there was nothing they could do" about guests who chose to ignore the no-smoking policy. I then had to endure the yapping of the family dog, kitchen noises and fish fry-up smells coming from the owners flat adjacent to my room and sharing the same dismal air well. When we tried to check out the next day we were told there was a 48 hour cancellation policy, so checked out two days later instead. At this point the none-too-pleasant owner tried to deny me a refund for the fourth night, saying he would have to pay Venere for the four nights in any case. A very unpleasant experience. Avoid this miserable "hostal" at all costs.

Rooms and bathrooms were very clean. My bathroom was more spacious than I had expected. The room, however, required a bit of physical agility to move around, as it was small for the size of the bed. Staff was friendly. Location was very good--I love being among the beautiful and elegant buildings on Gran Via. Overall a good place to stay, but I have gotten a much better deal, slightly more convenient location, and much more spacious and attractive rooms at the Hotel Ateneo.

We enjoyed our stay here. The man who runs the place was very helpful. The rooms are nice, very clean, but tiny. We weren't spending a lot of time in the room so the size didn't matter a lot.

sehr sauber, ruhig (wenn Zimmer nach hinten bzw. Lichtschacht ). WLAN ca. EUR 6,- pro Tag extra. Gerne wieder
