We stayed here at the end of our 2 week long trip through Spain. It was a wonderful suprise to have such comfortable beds and well-appointed bathrooms. I highly recommend this hotel to travelers whether on business or leisure trips.
The only downside was the location... though situated in a nice neighborhood, it is necessary to take the underground (located nearby) or a taxi to the more traveled tourist site-seeing areas and shopping. However, we did both and had no problems getting around.
The hotel is also located fairly close to the airport. A good choice if you have an early morning flight or a late arrival.

I was here on business over a Spanish Holiday weekend and that caused a few problems as the Abba is a business hotel and should provide a service for business people regardless of holidays. But this is Spain and thanks to the dedication of the staff we got around the hurdles. Chema, the hotel manager over that period is why I give this hotel top marks. He and his staff went out of their way to help us with everything from Laundry to internet to a decent steak! But the hotel itself is clean and roomy and is a good business hotel. Food is above average for a business hotel too.

Six blokes from Nottingham UK stayed here for two nights. (aged from mid thirties to early sevenies) Good rooms, good helpful staff, and a very good breakfast. Close to the Metro (Cartagena) Allthough if you walk to Diego de Leon 10' away it is easier to get to the centre.
When in Madrid, graze on the tapas, order a cana (small beer) and you'll usually get a free tapa. Also try the Cidra (Cider) bars.

The location is about 15min cab ride from the airport. We took the metro to go to the centre and it takes about 30min to get to Sol and you have to change once. We used the Av America station.
The hotel is modern, very clean and the staff were helpful. The rooms are big by European city standards, no problem with noise, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, clean and a lot of complimentary toiletries. We had a non smoking room on the non smoking floor. The room also has a safe and english tv. Perfect.
Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay at this hotel when we go back to Madrid. Its not recommended for those who want to stay in a central hotel but perfect for those who want a 4 star, clean hotel with good connections.

The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff are polite, and helpful, and the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The hotel is close to public transport, but it is a bit of a walk if you want to go anywhere under your own steam - though we did find a nice tapas bar 'canas y tapas' not too far away.
