Stayed at the Confortel Madrid for one night. Big, 2 room ( bedroom + living room) suite for 90 USD. It was clean and quite. The hotel desk spoke english and was easy to check in and out of. Located a bit out of central madrid, but close (50 meters) Metro (subway) access makes the location less important.

Just spent a week here on a business trip and found myself very disappointed considering the other reviews. In fact my group had four rooms and all had various problems. My room was run down, with various bits of the bathroom broken or loose, other rooms had problems with a persistent smell and problems with the shower. In my room the wi fi performance was very patchy. We stayed in rooms in the 140s and we suspect that the other areas of the hotel have been modernised (Bloque 3) for example, whereas our bloc needs modernisation. The location is excellent with a metro station a few hundred metres away, and the airport is about 20 mins in a taxi.

This is an excellent hotel - spotlessly clean, large well equiped room, good staff and conveniently placed for the metro. From the station you are about 20 minutes, and one change into the city centre. 1,2 and 3 day metro passes are very good value for money. Our booking included breakfast - there is a good choice of fruit, bread and pastries, and a very slow toaster! Would recommend to anyone.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of march and I can highly recommend it. Modern, clean, comfortable hotel about 20 minutes on the tube from the historic centre. We were upgraded when we got there to a superior suite, huge comfortable bed, free minibar, modern styling, flat screen rotating TV. If you want a reasonably priced (we paid around ?55 per night), good 4* hotel you really can't go wrong. I can also highly recommend the churros in the cafe about 4 door down opposite the metro. Also have dinner in the cellar at the Botin, we had an amazing night!
