This hotel was very clean. The price of drinks at the bar were very reasonable. The hotel is a bit far out from the city centre but dont let that put you off because it is on the railway station and metro station. But not at all noisy. I had the best nights sleep that i had anywhere in the world. When you arrive at madrid airport you can arrive at this hotel via metro system very easily. I advise anybody to buy a metro ticket (1day, 3day,7day). The metro system is very efficent and runs 24 hours. Madrid is a city that should be put on the must visit list of every1.

Stayed at this hotel in September 2007 for three nights, it was extremely easy to find this hotel, in fact it would be hard not to see it when you leave the Charmartin train station as it is literally across the road. The reception was very spacious and clean and welcoming, the staff spoke good enough English and we had no problems getting our room. Just across from the reception is the room where you get breakfast in the morning, again a large well lit room with a very big selection of food ranging from fruit, cereal, bread, cold meat, cakes and hot sausage, eggs and bacon and the usual drinks you would expect to see at breakfast, all there for you to help yourself, an excellent start to the day. Next to the breakfast room is a bar, in the evenings when we were there they had a guy playing the piano, it was a nice setting, although I got the impression they would have preferred you to dress up a little to use it, as I had a funny look when I walked in wearing jeans and a rugby shirt, I should point out that just outside the second level enterance by the reception desk there is a nice little bar, serving beer and I found it more comfortable to relax in, as it had the feel of a real British pub, also complimentary bar snacks when you order a few beers. Onto the room itself, we had ours on the seventh floor, all floors are serviced by four elevators which were clean and worked well. The room was of a reasonable size, had air con, TV, mini bar fridge and the ever important safe. The beds were comfortable, although only one pillow each, and no spares in the wardrobe, I'm sure they would have sent more if we had asked for them, but we didn't. They had blinds outside the room, operated by a small handle under the window, and these really made a difference, the room was very dark when the blinds were closed, perfect for sleeping, the noise level from outside was also at a minimum with good soundproofed windows. The bathroom was nice, with a toilet, bidet and a shower over the bath, plenty of hot water for showering. When we checked out we were able to use the hotel's luggage storeroom to keep our bags until we needed to collect them later in the day. The hotel is well situated for the traveller and tourist, although it takes two Metro trains to reach it from Madrid Airport, but that's only a minor problem when you consider there is virtually no walking required since the hotel is right outside the station, I would definately reccomend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Madrid.
