The Aalborg is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed with 2 young infants and they did their best to accommodate us. Breakfast is decent (but not outstanding). The bar is open 24 hrs. The location is excellent. Close to museums, parks, and city centre. I would thoroughly recommend anyone who is on a limited budget to stay here when visiting Amsterdam.
The only minus I can think of is the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room. Otherwise, it was great!
