Hotel Campomar  - Guardamar del Segura, Spain     

I booked our 5 night break based on its price from an internet search travel site, once paid for i then looked into the property! (I know wrong way round). Having read the reviews on this site I was quite concerned by some of the comments as I was travelling with my husband a 3 year year old. I needn't have worried, the staff were lovely, most spoke enough English for us to understand each other (my Spanish is limited to hello, goodbye and thank you), the food was plentiful, a good selection for all meals with hot and cold dished available. There was always water and wine with our meals. There was a good selection of salad and I can honestly say that we did not see the same thing come out in the way of hot food for any 2 successive meals. The puddings did get repetative but they were lovely (hubby reccomends the rice pudding!) and there was always fruit available of at least 2 if not 3 different kinds. The room was what you need, somewhere to sleep and wash. The tv had sky news and bbc news so could keep up with home news as well a selection of spanish tv. It was cleaned everyday and towels were replaced daily too. If you like the sun in your room ask for a pool view as this will give you sun most of the day otherwise you only get sunset on the other side of the hotel. The car park is of a good size and we would recommend a car in order to get into Guardamar itself or anywhere else, although the buses do come into the hotel grounds anyway. Both pools are good and cleaned out each morning, the paddling pool goes from 45cm to 55cm in depth and the large pool has depths from 130cm to 180cm. Overall we had a good 5 nights here, as I said in my title, you get what you pay for and this is a good quality 3 star hotel.
