Los Cantaros details: Centrally located, in the area called “Ribera del Marisco”, a leisure area par excellence and only 10 minutes from the beach. The building occupies the spot where formerly stood a women´s Prision, until its clousure and demolition in the 1970´s. The square itself is still known as “Prision Square” ( Plaza de la Cárcel ).
In 1983, this old prision was pulled down to build “Los Cantaros Hotel”. Los Cantaros means earthenware and the Hotel takes its name from earthenware Jugs dating back to XVII century, found in the subsoil of the old prision; today, these jugs are displayed in the “Town Museum” and some are on display in the hotel reception. Quiet and familiar atmosphere, and a careful and personal service.

We booked 1 night here as part of our 14 days Andalucia trip, but we enjoyed El Puerto de Santa Maria and the hotel was good, so we cancelled another place and stayed 1 more night here. Helpful, friendly staff. Great location, many good restaurants just around the corner. Parking close by, half price if payed at the hotel. Good value overall.

Sehr schönes und gepflegtes Hotel. Gute Lage - alles ist zu Fuss erreichbar. Einige Zimmer mit toller Terrasse auf den Innenhof. Sehr nettes und freundliches Personal. Gutes Buffet-Frühstück. Parkgarage direkt nebenan. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. El Puerto eignet sich auch sehr gut als Standort für Ausflüge in die Umgebung; vom Hafen fahren regelmässig Kursschiffe nach Cadiz. Wir waren 3 Nächte hier und fühlten uns sehr wohl!
