Just back from a lovely holiday at the San Luis. Myself and my wife stayed there the last week in June 2008. ( Both 50 but young and lively !!!!). The hotel is lovely and clean. The rooms are fine. The pool area is superb, and is cleaned every day. There are plenty of sunbeds to round with lots of shade if you need it. The food was good. Plenty of choice and as much as you want. There were very few quese at the bar area for drinks. We took 4 drinks at a time ( 2 each ) without a problem. You could get crisps and nuts and light snacks as well. All in all we had a fantastic time.

Whilst the hotel is in a nice quiet area, not far from the seafront it lacks personality. We were under the impression from various websites and in a couple of brochures that this was a 4* hotel, although the rooms are ok they are pretty basic, in my opinion this is an OK 3 star hotel. Our experience in the restaurant where we were on an all inclusive plan added to our disappointment, although you do not have to go hungry the food is bland and the menu repetitive, Breakfast is pretty bleak, the orange juice is warm, the coffee like tar and the cooked breakfast is swimming in oil. There is a choice of continental breakfast of breads, cereals and some fruits. On the flip side the pool is nice, its clean and looks almost brand new, there are ample sun beds and the hotel advertises the fact that they WILL remove towels that appear at dawn. The lobby bar is Ok and the staff throughout the hotel are friendly and helpful. The pool side restaurant is nice and serves good pizza, salad and pasta but only opens for lunch. The entertainment however had me cringing, all it lacked was a kiss me quick hat and was very cheezy. OK if you like the birdy song and aggado etc. No matter where you were you in the hotel, including the room we stayed in on the 2nd floor you could hear it, and even as you walked back to the hotel from the sea front. If you want to eat out to vary your choice we recommend the Asia restaurant, the food was superb, however you can only eat here once as part of your all inclusive plan, we liked it and returned and paid. (58 Euros for a good meal & wine). Pool towels, safe key and a small fridge for your room all require a returnable deposit. We have never had to pay up front for this before and as we were on an all inclusive plan would have expected this as standard in a 4* Hotel, but perhaps not in a 3*. My husband dives, and I promised I would give it a go, so we booked a discover SCUBA diving experience at S'Algar Diving on the seafront, this was a wonderful experience and all the staff were most helpful, I would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone wishing to dive. On the whole an OK holiday, only spoilt by a lack of imagination in the hotel restaurant and bedrooms.
