Hotel Port Ciutadella details: Hotel Port Ciutadella is located in Ciutadella, a charming main town on the west coast of the island.

The hotel's privileged location is what makes it stand out, as it is situated in a quiet area right by the sea, facing the beach Platja Gran, while at the same time, it is within easy walking distance of the city centre, where one can enjoy the commercial area and the historical town, as well as the restaurants and lively nightlife at the harbour.

Found this hotel on the web and tried to book through First Choice (direct not very easy). First Choice useless, eventually through Thompson but still had problems. The hotel is very good. Two storey and only 2 - 3 years old. Restaurant in the lower level (essentially underground so little outlook. Fully disablled friendly with easy ramp to entrance and outer stitting area. Internally ground fllor level and pool which is situated in the centre of the hotel (much like being on board a ship) is decked and level at all door ways. Lifts to all floors. Rooms comfortable and small but adequate balconies. Staff very friendly. Food very good, more than enough choice for breakfast and the evening meal. Generally could not fault it with the head waiter regularly checking food temperature. Cold trays were 'cold'. I would suggest that there is something for everyone with at least 2 fish and 2 meat per night, vegetarian choice etc. If booking always go for a sea view otherwise looking at housing across the road or onto the inner pool. The hotel faces onto a one way road (reasonably quiet and a wide promenade that will take you into the town - steady walking = 20 minutes or by cutting through the streets in 8 minutes. Pavements not overly wide but are wheelchair friendly. Food in the hotel is cheaper than town but worth trying as we did. Certainly a nice place to stay and see the area. Recommend car to see the rest of the island. I se no problem for the older travellor but the hotel has little to offer children or teenagers.

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Port Ciudadela Hotel in Menorca. We are older travellers who like to see places of interest and stay in pleasant surroundings but do not have unlimited finances. The hotel is great, we booked a room with a sea view, which I would strongly recommend is well worth the little extra. The food was great, all done in buffet style, but with a terrific choice that should meet almost everyones taste, not to mention terrific value for money. It's a new modern and smart hotel with good facilities which includes a very nice spa and about 10 -15 minutes easy walk to the centre of Ciudadela. All the staff were helpful, most polite and the service was top notch. We hired bikes for a day (asked reception) at reasonable cost which was good fun as cycling is popular due to mostly flat terrain. The locals seem very friendly and car drivers seem to stop when you approach a zebra cross let alone actually step on one. All in all a great place to visit although a week is more than enough to see all the local places of interest. We tried a couple of restaurants but were dissapointed unlike the hotel which should be top of your list.
