Location

Carmona is one of the towns of Seville with the biggest historical legacy, taking an importat part through the consecutive invasions. Its name comes from the Semitic root KAR that means city, probably related to its possible Phoenician foundation. The romans called it Carmo, and the arabs Qarmuna.
The Rincon de las Descalzas is situated in the Historical Centre of Carmona, close to the Santa Maria de Gracia Church, a beautiful Gothic example, with many Chapels and nice works in precious metals. From the Visigothic period it preserves a liturgical calendar cut on one of the columns of the Patio de los Naranjos.
The hotel takes its name from the Descalzas passage, in front of the Descalzas’ convent, from the XVIII century and with a beautiful façade and tower.

Beautiful hotel but shame about the noise!!!!

I agree with all the other reviews, this is a beuatiful hotel in a gorgeous town but please be aware that this hotel is next to a church and the clock chimes every half an hour with one chime and on the hour for the time. So our friends and us had a terrible nights sleep, and there was no way of drowning out the noise. We went to have breakfast and we must have been the only people in the hotel as there was very little available. There wasn't a single member of staff to be seen but someone had left us some cereal, buns and fruit. The milk was UHT left in the carton on the side half empty and warm and the orange juice was sunny delight!!! We took one look and decided to leave and find a cafe in the town. This hotel would be great for a couple on honeymoon as it is so romantic and abviously on honeymoon you wouldn't need much sleep!
