Helios Benidorm - Benidorm, Spain 

We have just returned from our 7 day stay at this hotel. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Transfer from Alicante airport took about one hour, this included a few stops at other hotels along the way. Check in was very smooth, and within 5 minutes we were in our room. Room was spacious with ample storage for clothes etc. Nice balcony with chairs and table. On the downside there was no fridge, kettle or hair dryer in our room. The air con was very efficient though. Our first time in the restuarant we were allocated a table which we would use for the duration of our stay. In our case this table was shared with another couple. From our observation it seemed different nationalities were kept together in each area of the resturant. The food was buffet style with a wide range of dishes, good choice of vegetables and plenty of fruit/desserts to choose from. Only problem was with some of the food you didn't know what it was as there were no labels. One point to take note of is that you had a pay for any drinks and compared to the local bars these were quite expensive. For the size of the hotel we found the pool and surrounding area to be often over-crowded and getting a sun lounger was not possible unless you were willing to get up early and reserve one with your towel. There was a large grass area though which we used most days. Staff were friendly enough, the room was cleaned thoroughly with frequent towel/bed linen changes. Entertainment was on every night, we found some a little entertaining but think it is more suited to families with children. It's no big deal though as there is plenty to do at night in the surrounding area. All in all we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Helios but we think it is more suitable for families and older couples.
