Never got to check in !!Posted: Mon, Feb 11 2008Turned up on speck but unfortunately never got past reception so can`t comment on the quality of the hotel. The receptionist however needs to be re-trained on how to treat customers. We arrived around 4.00 pm looking for a double room for a few days. Upon entering the reception area a guy, presumably a guest, was walking down the stairs clutching an open lap top heading for reception as well. Although we were first `in the queue` we somehow ended up being ignored and listened to the receptionist explain to this guy the ins and outs of WiFi connection. This conversation went on and on and after 10 minutes of waiting we walked out. Frankly it was an appalling way to treat prospective guests. Not one word to the guy like `hang on a few minutes whilst I check these people in` and not one word to us like ` I`ll be with you as soon as I can, please bear with me`
We checked into another hotel a few yards away. The reception area in that hotel was log jammed but we were checked in and in our room within 3 minutes. Now that`s service for you.
Although I read trip Advisor reviews regularly I have never been moved to pass a bad comment on any hotel I have stayed in but in this occasion the terrible service warrents it.
That apart Bilbao was fantastic !! A wonderful, wonderful city.
