just got back from benalmadena palace stayed there 13/07/08 to 20/07/08. was made up of 2 familys. 1st family 2 children 5 and 3 and 2 adults. 2nd family 2 adults and child of 14 months in a push chair. i can not fault the hotel in any way the pool area was very clean at all times. the jaccuzzi and gym where free. the bar prices was fair but happy hour was not as it says buy one get on free. rooms were kept clean and the maid seemed to change the towels daily and made the beds. there is a 60 euro deposit on the room and a safe deposit box is in your romm at a cost of around 18 euros a week. the hotel super market was expensive, but there is a back gate to the hotel and there is a super market at the bottom of the hill its a big building with a white roof close to burger king and the shell petrol station. the hill to the rear and the front of the hotel is very steep.it was hard to push a push chair up without having to stop several times. we got used to walking down and getting a taxi back. the weather was in the 90's to 100's can not fault it but at times it was just too hot. the beach is not sand its like volcanic grit and shell and pebbles and with the heat very hot on the feet and once in the water it is sharpish on the feet . the beach again was very clean the beds are 8 euro's for 2. there is plenty of things for the kids to do during the day at the hotel and entertainment for them of a night. the disco pub as its called closes around 3am the shows ect are ok but dont be fooled by the name disco pub,, as there was no disco for younger teens to dance ect. tivoli world is close by but up hills to get there. 6 euro's to get in per person the 12 euro's if you want to get wrist band to get you on all the rides opens around 1800hrs and closes very late into the night. there is a place called selwo marina expensive to get in if you just walked round it would take 15 to 20 mins there was some shows on dolphins, sea lions, parrots and reptiles to be honest it was not upto much and in the heat its no very nice sitting there waiting for the shows to start. the is a great water park just out side benalmadena worth a visit. the marina is great there is plenty of bars and restraunts all expensive and the few was lower quality than the cheaper places in the town ect and a few kids things for them to play on, milllions of fish around the boats so take some bread for the kids to feed them. was there for the fireworks and they was great. the main area for the night life was in my opinion not that good if you have ever been to benidorm or tenerife i would rate them 10/10 but here 3/10 it was poor not so many bars or clubs and some even wanted you to pay to go in and have a drink.. every one likes to do a crawl. this is a place for the older people i think Lots of things to go and see and do for them..had a good time but wont be going back visted the surrounding areas and was not imppressed...
