Hotel Abbatial St Germain - Paris, France     

The room was fine, if not cheap. Nice location, very near the Seine and Notre Dame. There's a lot going on St Germain, even if it is quite touristy. However, there are some great bars/restaurants just a short walk away, including a great Mexican right across the road, and a cafe downstairs for breakfast and watching Paris go by. This hotel is a good jumping-off point.

From check-in to check-out we found this hotel to be comfortable and a great location for exploring Paris. For an unforgettable week, we enjoyed efficient, friendly service from the staff at this hotel. A really special "thank you" to Veronique for providing assistance in booking travel and entertainment during our stay. Our double superior room was ample for two persons with a comfortable bed and a view of towers of Notre Dame Cathedral from the balcony, all at a reasonable price for Paris. Location of Hotel Abbatial Saint-Germain was within comfortable walking distance to the Pantheon, Sorbonne, Notre Dame, Bastille and Place des Vosges, Jardin des Plantes, Luxembourg gardens and many other landmarks. Just down Boulevard Saint Germain we found Cafe La Flor, Les Deux Magots and Brasserie Lipp, places where writers such as Hemingway and intellectuals shared ideas, food and drinks over the years. Located just a long city block from the Seine made utilization of the Batobus (water taxi) very handy. The Batobus makes stops at Jardin des Plantes, Hotel de Ville, the Louvre, Champs Elysees, Eiffel Tower, Museum D"Orsay, St. Germain des Pres and Notre Dame, making the entire center of Paris readily available by boat. The Latin Quarter cabaret, Paridis Latin is only three or so blocks from the hotel. We enjoyed breakfast each morning in the cellar area, served by the lift (elevator). Good food and friendly service. All in all, our week in Paris was complimented by the comfort, location and superior service provided by the personnel of Hotel Abbatial Saint Germain.
