Location
Situated on the south of Croatia, Dubrovnik is considered to be the Pearl of the Adriatic coast. Rich in cultural and historical monuments, its old town (Stari Grad) was placed by Unesco on the World Heritage List in 1979. Dubrovnik's city walls were built in between the 7th and 13th century, and are still intact today. You can't beat the view of arguably the finest city walls in the world, and a walk along these walls will most likely be the highlight of your visit.
There is something to do for everyone in Dubrovnik from sightseeing, relaxing along the sea and, of course, to participating in the much anticipated Summer Festival. When in Dubrovnik, make a point to visit the national park on the island of Mljet as well as Marco Polo's birthplace on the island of Korčula.

Booked ages ago for my sister and I, double bed instead of twin beds but they soon sorted this out very nicely and gave us a higher room with an even more superb sea view but only the following morning.
Lovely rooms, good service but no prices on mini fridge and the hotel bars seemed to charge very high prices for drinks. Breakfast okay but an average 'buffet' with cooked food sometimes cold but then who wants English bacon & eggs. Fruit, pastries, cheese & hams available and super for breakfast.
Very helpful reception, booked taxi from airport for us and gave all information we requested. Excellent bus service just outside the main hotel - we didn't wait once for a bus into Dubrovnik Old Town or back as there was always one waiting during all 4 days, sometimes two trips a day (about 10 mins and 10 Kooners). Maybe stay in Old Town next time but loved the hotel and we had an amazing time.

Yes the hotel exterior is dated (think late 80's), and the towels are a bit old and worn but what baffles me when reading other reviews is, its a 3/4 star resort (depending where you stay)- how can you expect more?
I stayed in the Importanne Resort, which had a large balcony, air conditioning, king size bed, and a large bathroom. I have no complaints- the room itself was more than adequate.
The hotel's facilities are 4 star. The hotel complex is very large- which gym, pool, restaurant, cafe, bar etc,
The hotel has its own private beach with parasols and umbrella's.
I had a a great stay and would definitely go again. While it is a bit far from the Old Town (about $15 US cab fare), I would prefer to stay in Babin Kuk than Old Town as it is quieter and you have your own private beach.
