Palace is a bit far from Dubrovnik old town, but still close enough and easy to get there (old town is the main motivation factor for 90% of people coming to Dubrovnik). Hotel has been relatively recently refurbished and it looks very good…see view is truly great…interior design is modern but pleasant. I only had breakfast, which was very good…took only one a’la carte lung, which was brilliant (expensive, though). The hotel is expensive, so value for money could be subject to a debate, but it is a decent value for money, overall. Pool/beach area is nice (the beach is rocks…either you like it or not…the sea very clean…cleanliness of the sea is really a strongpoint of Croatian coast of Adriatic). Anyway, it remains one of the best choices in Dubrovnik, again, a bit expensive, but still very nice.

My wife and I have just returned from a week in Hotel Palace in Lapad which is about 4km from Dubrovnik. Hotel is in an absolutely beautiful location and very convenient to the city, with a local bus service right to the door every 15 mins or so, last return at about 2am (at least during summer months) for about ?2. Hotel has a free shuttle bus in the morning and evening every hour into the city. The hotel itself is very nice but not 5 star luxury. Nothing major wrong but small little housekeeping things that take away from a 5 star experience. Our room was sea view with balcony, good clean and very comfortable but not luxury. Breakfast was excellent and the view from the restaurant very relaxing. We dined one evening in the hotel and it was very good but again not extra special. Pool area is fantastic and ample space along the rocks to find a quiet area of your own to sun bathe and swim in the sea. Limited entertainment at night, best to go into the city for dining and nightlife as there is so much on offer in Dubrovnik itself. Fantastic city with so much to see and do, extremely clean, great dining, mostly outdoors. therefore any small issues with the hotel were more than compensated for by the whole experience of visiting Croatia for the first time it is a really wonderful place and I most definately would go back.
