Regencia Colon - Barcelona, Spain

My husband and myself return home yesterday after a 4 night stay at the Regencia Colon Hotel. We stayed there last year and decided that if we went back to Barcelona we would stay at the Regencia. Everything was as it was last year. We even had the same room! The only slight hitch was that for the first 24hours the heating was off. A little moan and groan and Hey Presto the heating was on. This is a well situated, clean, friendly hotel. Ladies there is no need to take a hairdryer or shampoo. There are even packets with a toothebrush and toothpaste in them. What more do you want? We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. It is well worth a try. Excellent value for money. A good stay. We will be back again next year. For 3 rashers of bacon, 2 fried eggs, 1 slice of toast with butter 4euro 90 cents at the Licra cafe come restaurant (coffee extra) next to the hotel of the same name on the Ramblas. Very enjoyable.

Nice place to stay,but we had one of the rooms where it is some noice from the street.The hotel could have had internett-connection for the guests.The breakfast is expencive, but there are plenty of cheap places near by,in Calle Anna we found a very nice and cheap one.

Regencia Colon is in proximity to a busy square, Los Ramblos and the waterfront - centrally located - our check in time was delayed by about 2 hrs which was inconvenient - as a whole, the staff was semi helpful, the breakfast at 11 eu was greatly overpriced & not to our taste...we paid about the same at a local cafe but the food was edible. The room was acceptable - nothing horribly wrong w/ this hotel but not one I would presonally return to.

We were very pleased with this hotel. Large comfortable room. Located a minute from the main plaza of Bari Goti area. Beautiful 700 year old church, dozens of restaurants, shopping, live Spanish music & within easy walking to the beach area & Las Rambla. Accomodating & friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again.
