Ayre Hotel Caspe - Barcelona, Spain     

We just spent a very comfortable four nights at the Ayre Hotel Caspe. After several cramped, loud rooms throughout Europe, it was wonderful to have a good-sized, clean, well-furnished, comfortable and quiet room. Yes, the lobby is ultra-modern and a bit clinical, but we care much more about the room. After a long day of sight-seeing, I want a good bed, a well-laid-out space, and a quality shower, all of which this hotel offers. We appreciated the free bottled water and the mini-refrigerator, in which we stored lunch supplies. The location was fine for us -- a quiet street with several grocery stores and cafes nearby, and very close to the Arc de Triumpf subway station -- maybe 5 or 10 minutes walk. Regarding the subway: I have to disagree with the comment above. Yes, the stairs and long halls are a pain, but the system is extensive, and I've never seen a subway system that was so well marked and easy to use. Every station entry has staff available to answer questions or provide other assistance. We were able to quickly travel all over Barcelona using this excellent system.

Our party of four thought two nights in a modern hotel would be appropriate in a classy city like Barcelona and we were so happy with our choice! We loved the avant-garde setting. The rooms were spacious and spotless. The front desk guys were just the best in every way. What more could one ask for? I highly recommend the Ayre Caspe.
