Centrally, but quietly, located in a pedestrian street just off the Ramblas, the Petit Palace Opera Garden Ramblas was an ideal location for a few days in Barcelona. It was 5 minutes walk from Plaza Catalunya and the airport bus terminus, a minute from the Rambla, and 2 minutes from the Cathedral. We requested a quiet room and were given one overlooking the rear garden. Our room was upgraded to a Hi Tech room, which included a massage jet shower, flat screen TV & installed laptop (free connection). The bed seemed bigger than king size, and was very comfortable (room 1305), probably the best night's sleep ever in a hotel. Part of the Hi-Tech group, I believe the hotel was recently refurbished/opened, and is decorated in a modern minimalist style with a colour scheme of black, white and orange! Safe boxes in the room were free, and operated with your own credit card. The breakfast room and other public areas were a bit on the stark side. Comprehensive buffet breakfast. We paid euros 113 plus taxes for 2 of us, per night including breakfast. The published rate at reception was euros 275 (not sure if that was a standard room or hi-tech price). Overall, a good choice for a short break, where central location and a good night's sleep is important!

For tourists who want to stay in the very center, this hotel is a very good place to stay. We had a room with a view to the very quiet garden which seemed fantastic, but the other window went to a tiny calle where people shouted and were terribly loud until five o'clock in the morning. Staff were correct but not overwhelmingly friendly. The "design touch" of the rooms is spoiled by the fact that everything is rather time-worn and not perfectly clean. Thats a pity because the location and the place would be perfect for a great stay in wonderful Barcelona with many of its sights and terrific bars nearby.

Oh my God! Hotel is absolute zero, so we had to check out within 5 hours.It is useless to discuss anything about this hotel. Everything is just the opposite of what you can see and read on their homepage. Even La Rambla can not save them. Although the staff was very nice, helpfull and booked us the desired hotel Petit Palace Museum. It is the hotel from their own chain of hotels with the exception that it is clean, spacious, on great location, and the price is just the same.

Personnel sympathique et compétent, chambres calmes, propres au design très moderne, hôtel très bien situé, très bon petit déjeuner bien que cher comme dans tous les hôtel, PC portable avec connexion wi-fi dans la chambre, très prtique.

Our first room in the Garden Section had a problem with the bathroom shower door, and like many rooms in Europe, it smelled of cigarettes. The management moved us to another room on the upper floor, and we had an enjoyable stay. My wife is alergic to cats, and unfortunately, there are several that roam the garden area. Other than that, you couldn't beat the location and convenience.
