We stayed at this hotel in May 2003. We were concerned about the hotels location as it is on the island of Lido and not in main Veince. The location of this hotel turned out to be great as it was nice to get away from the huge crowds in Venice at the end of the day. We were able to take our car to Lido and park for free by the hotel which was a money saver. There is a very frequent bus that stops right in front of the hotel and takes you directly to the bus boat docks. The hotel itself is very nice and well maintained. The rooms are VERY small, but clean and nice. The breakfast that is included in the price of the room is good and has a fair selection of cold foods to chose from.

Website indicated that each room had an iron so I didn't bring my own. Upon arrival I was informed that they would arrange for my ironing to be done for a fee. Also, guest registering in before was told their breakfast was included, ours was not. I would have liked to know the criteria for breakfast when making reservation. Our room was in the back, not good for views, but quiet at night. Location great. This is my first time to Barcelona, I would certainly use Gaudi Hotel again and recommend it to my friends.

We only stayed at this hotel for one night before going off on a Med cruise. The public rooms are quaint with some nice "Gauid" features but it doesnt really justify the name of Hotel Gauid I dont think. The room we had was miniscule although it did have a balcony at the back looking over what can only be described as the view you would least write home about. Dilapidated, falling apart old buildings, with a large police station back yard as the highlight when it came to the view. It was also absolutely bouncing down with rain for the 24 hours we were there so we made no use of the balcony. The bathroom was very nice and then room was probably quite newly done, it was just far too small. The beds were single, when we'd asked for a double bed, but there were actually like sleeping on boards, so more than one night there would have meant a trip to the chiropractor !! Reception staff were pleasant and helpful. and breakfast was very average. We did ring room service to ask for some early morning coffee and this arrived almost as soon as I'd put the phone down, delivered by a pleasant and smiling waitress. Location is also pretty good, and the advantage of being at the back, with the lousy view, was that we didnt notice any street noise. It was too expensive for what you get.
