4.8We booked this hotel in 10 minutes flat whilst sitting in an internet cafe in Spain. Thanks to Venere.com and the feedback system, this was very easy, and like others we chose this hotel in view of it's proximity to the main Saints station. For the traveller this is the right choice, as to move around Barcelona the Metro system is the only sensible option. A T10 ticket allows 10 trips on the Metro system and only costs 7.25 Euros. It was also very nice to return to a quieter area of Barcelona at the end of a busy day.
The hotel was an excellent and typical 4 star business style hotel. Our room (801) was a large twin bedded room which had also had the benefit of a large walk in shower as well as a bath. The only couple of small letdowns, were the lack of tea / coffee making facilities in the room and the mini ironing board which was almost useless.
We did not use any of the hotel facilities, so we cannot comment on them. We also did not use the hotel restaurant or have breakfast in the hotel. Breakfast would have been 16 Euros per head, discounted to 14 Euros per head if you booked in advance, so we took the opportunity to go next door to a cafe where 4 croissants and two coffees cost 7.20 Euros. The cafe also supplied a cooked breakfast for around 5 Euros.
The value of our two night stay was excellent. It may be because we booked last minute or the fact that it was in August (hot and few businessmen), but the two nights cost 199.02 Euros, with first night costing 96.30 Euros and the second night costing 102.72 Euros. I have no idea why there was a difference.
The staff were extremely polite and efficient, and the information they gave us, as it was our first trip to Barcelona, was very helpful.
I would stay at this hotel again if returning to Barcelona.
