Avenida Palace Hotel's staff was very helpful and the went out of their way to help us with places to see and eat. The room was spacious for Europe, bathroom was new and modern. The hotel location was perfect, you could go anywhere you wanted and everything was close by. Dexter, Santa Cruz

Perfect 20th Century Hotel

Barcelona's Avenida Palace is the perfect location to stay in Barcelona. Beautiful appointments and small but attentive staff. Near La Rambla and all transportations. A few small drawbacks are: no coffee machine, no fitness center (a plus to me, but missed by my wife), no ice service that we could find, the room safes didn't work (two rooms, safes were found locked and staff didn't open them). Also, Internet access is clumsy. You can get a thirty minute block free in the lobby (use the "lobby" network), but costs extra from the room. Also, what truly shocked us was that to print out our airline boarding passes, we had to purchase time on a different internet service provider to use the business center and printer. We feel that one provider should be enough for the room and business center printer.

We were very satisfied with our stay at the Avenida Palace. The only minor complaint we had was that sometimes we had to wait on line at the front desk to get our key to go to the room. The room was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. We thought the extra charges were a bit high, i.e. use of the internet, breakfast, mini-bar etc. We chose to eat breakfast at a cafeteria nearby.

Hotel bien situé. La classe à deux pas de la place Catalunya. Hotel à conseiller pour ceux qui veulent être à l'abri de mauvaises surprises sans se vider les poches.
