Hotel Silken Diagonal Barcelona - Barcelona, Spain     

We stayed 4 days at the Silken Diagonal. All the great tripadvisor reviews made me book this hotel. An excellent choice. We arrived at 9am at the hotel and got a room even without asking. The hotel is not in the city centre. But the Metro is right around the corner and takes you to Placa Catalunya in 10 min. We had room 907 and had an excellent view on the city. The staff was very friendly, professnional and helpful. Would go there again, whenever we are back in Barcelona.

We stayed in Silken hotels throughout Spain, so Barcelona was no exception. The Diagonal has a bit of "designer" feel while being reasonably priced. The bar in the lobby area is a nice place to relax and have a drink/smoke. The hotel is a bit out of the way from most tourist attractions, but it's near a subway station so it's still easy to get around. The rooms are clean and reasonably fitted like other Silken hotels. The bathroom has a glass wall facing the beds, with blinds for privacy. The maintenance of the bathroom could have been a bit better. The blue lights on the outer walls of the hotel are a bit annoying. You need to lower the blinds fully to go to sleep, and sometimes I like leaving the blinds open so I can be woken up naturally by the sun. Overall it's a reasonable place to stay in Barcelona. Since we didn't spend much time in the room, the reasonable price was more important to us.
