this hotel is ok. we've stayed in worse and we've stayed in better. for what we paid we got value for money. our 5th floor room overlooked the Paral-ell which got the sun and also all the noise that comes off a busy street! the room was large , beds ok, clean. the bathroom was a bit grotty with a small shower/bath cubicle thing! breakfast was included but you had to queue a while til people left their tables. the breakfast was more than adequate with a good choice. it's a short walk to the rambles and the marina and there are a good few bars/restaurants/cafes etc. nearby. all night long the street was noisy as the bars/clubs turned out. lots of shouting, sirens and cars racing. in fact when we left for the airport in the morning there were still crowds of young folk hanging around, drinking beer...still partying!! it is two stops on the metro (just outside the hotel) to the bus station where we got the bus back to girona airport. if you can't stand the noise, then don't stay here, but for us it was central, easy to get to and plenty of cafe-bars nearby.

Got very small room on booking in, spoke to reception and they moved us on following day to nice bright, airy room with lovely balcony over looking the Parallel street. This street is very NOISY at night with police, ambulance and every type of siren blowing all night long for a full week.Breakfast in hotel is very good and location is excellent for Las Rambles and Harbour but I again have to mention the noise from the street.

To be honest I didn’t mind the Auto Hogar. I have paid more and stayed in worse. We had a room at the front of the hotel that overlooked Paral-lel which was greta during the day however the noise was pretty bad. My partner can sleep through anything but he couldn’t sleep through the noise. We both wore ear plugs which did help and the shutter on the window cut out a bit more noise. If you are a light sleeper then avoid the Auto Hogar. I didn’t mind the breakfast. There was a variety and if you got down at about 9ish there seemed to be plenty of room and the stocks high. I wouldn’t suggested getting your breakfast first then looking for a table, that seemed to be a problem with people who came down later. The location is great. Can’t recommend anywhere to eat in the area as we didn’t have much luck. The staff at the during the day were very helpful and were able to recommend things for us to do and how to best get to the airport. The blue bus is the best way to get to and from the hotel as the trains are not currently running. All in all I might stay there again if I couldn’t find anything in the same area and at reasonable cost.

Horrible

This hotel was pretty average. There only thing it really had going for it was that it was in a good location. Right near a metro station if you are a fan of getting around by train but close enough to most things that you could walk. The rooms were very average - I have stayed in hostels that are better. Don't be deceived by the foyer - we were! Our shower door was broken, there was no toilet roll holder, and the whole room had a strange aroma. The breakfast room was out of control with the staff completely unable to compete with the demand. You had to clear your own table, sit with others, and wait for supplies to be restocked. All in all a very average stay. Find another hotel if you can.
