Hotel Lleo - Barcelona, Spain     

My wife and I stayed in the Lleo Hotel Barcelona for two nights - 8th and 9th January 2008. We decided to have a short break after the Christmas festivities and have some retail therapy in the excellent Barcelona sales. We found the Lleo to be very handy; right next to the Ramblas and Place de Catalunya. Near all the shops and restaurants. The reception staff were very helpful and when we asked for a smoking room allocated a twin with electric beds, jacuzzi bath and flat screen TV -room 516 (for all smokers who wish a bit of 3 star luxury). Although the hotel seemed not very busy (probably the time of year) the continental buffet breakfast was extensive, fresh kept well stocked and had everything you could have wished for. The public rooms are pleasant, modern bright and airy. The hotel was very clean. The amount of bleach used in the toilets could make you pass out from the fumes. A well kept 3 star hotel with pleasant staff in an excellent location at a fair price. I will return.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, the location is brillant just turn right when you come out of the hotel and las ramblas is at the bottom of the street the metro station is also at the end of this street. The hotel is very clean and the reception staff are vey helpful. The only downside was the location of our room it was beside the lift which meant we didnt have a view when we opned the curtains and the window it opened onto a long shoot with a skylight there was no light at all from this. We didnt spend much time in our room so it didnt really annoy us but as we were paying the same as everyone else a bit of light would have been nice. Although the room was beside the lift the noise of it wasnt a problem there is so much to see in Barcelona that by the end of the day we were wrecked and slept soundly. The food in the hotel was ok we ate pizza and bolognese and it was average, breakfast has a good deal of variety and tasted good
