NH La Maquinista - Barcelona, Spain

We were in Barcelona for business and stayed in NH La Maquinista in a double room for 3 nights at the end of May 2008, and we where totaly satisfied by the hotel and the room. The impression of "new" was always evident and this is what I appreciated the most. Very clean, very new, very quiet, so we had a nice stay there. The only drawback was that the metro station is not so close, you have to be prepared that it takes approximately 10 minutes walking. If you accept that, then it's OK. You might also find it interesting to visit the nearby shopping center, which is quite big and you can also find several fast food and coffee shops. Overall, I believe it was a good price-quality relatioship for that period in time.

Hi Folks, Stayed in this place last year. Flew with Ryanair into Girona, from there you can get a taxi to train station in Girona, and the area where hotel is, is on the line to Barcelona so couldn't be easier. From train station to hotel, its about a 10 minute walk. The City Centre is about 15-20 mins by train, so this place is perfect. On top of that, theres a great Shopping Centre at side of hotel, and there are restaurants, loads of stores etc. Would defo recommend it, and its reasonably priced. Bar the shopping centre, theres nothing much here, hop on the train and you're in town. Cheers
