Husa Oriente - Barcelona, Spain     

The location at the Husa was great. 10min walk to the port. The staff spoke English and was friendly. We had a triple room the fit three people well. Of course if three women are traveling together with 1 bathroom that might be a challenge. Our room had a balcony facing Ramblas. It is definitely loud but not to the point where I could not sleep. I traveled with my girlfriend who is a light sleeper and she managed just fine. If you are a light sleeper you might consider ear plugs. The only compliant I had with hotel was the A/C broke the first night we were there. It never really worked again during our stay (1 week) and our room was hot. If you are the type of traveler who spends the majority of there stay in the hotel meaning you don’t like to venture out, I would suggest another place. If you view a hotel room as a place to lay your head and shower then this place is perfect. It is very clean. As a side note – Ramblas is a tourist trap….everything is way over priced. Head off Ramblas towards the Cathedral of Barcelona and you will find much better food that is less expensive.

The location was fantastic - right in the heart of the Ramblas, but before it gets (too) seedy. It's in walking distance to some wonderful sights from the port to some of the great Gaudi houses. My room was comfortable and larger than some other rooms I had in Spain but I will agree with other reviewers that it was very plain - no flair at all. While it's true you don't go to Barcelona to look at the inside of a hotel room, a little refresh seems to be due. The ventilation was loud, but at least my room faced a back street and was quiet. They do have very helpful staff at the front desk and there was an Internet computer (extra fee) just off the lobby which was great for pre-flight checkin. When you get back from a day exploring, there are umpteen places to eat and drink just outside the door.
