"Great staff and suite"

The staff is really nice and helpful> Location is great as you can easily walk to the old city and also up the Montjuic hill. The bed and pillows were a Dream, bathroom great (jacuzzi and power shower), suite was stunning, big and very clean. The only down side is the hotel restaurant : the chef is trying too hard to be original with scary reasults ! About room service, just avoid the hamburger, the club sandwich is really good as well as the soups ! Anyway Barcelona has so many wonderful restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets : you must try the following ones : Organic (vege), Mama cafe (popular fun and good), Re-Pla (fusion and great lighting), Semproniana (incredible fusion and deco), Matsuri (thai, not expensive). This is a great value hotel for a lovely city.

they definately need a bigger swimming pool. and a better steam, suna facilities. they do have room at the top floor.

Beautiful hotel, but expect a backache in the morning!

This hotel is actually very beautiful. We booked it after our cruise because it was close to the port (less than five minutes) and close to Las Ramblas. The staff was extemely friendly, going out of their way to help us. Our room wasn't ready upon disembarking from the cruise, so they gave us complimentary drinks at the bar. The hotel is very clean, with a modern theme. It's close to Las Ramblas, within walking distance, and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy street. Even better, it's only about 20 minutes from the Barcelona airport. The only downside that we experienced was the bed. It was a very firm mattress, to put it politely, not at all what we are used to sleeping on here in the States. As you can imagine, it was a restless night. They do offer several pillow styles, however, attempting to accommodate the pampered traveler. Overall, it was a good experience, but next time will look for reviews that address the bed siutation before booking!

Enjoyable, but expensive

We had a 3-night stay, and found the hotel perfectly acceptable. Okay, so some of the carpeting was a little worn and it is set in a concrete jungle - but the Staff we very helpful and accommodating, the deluxe room was very nicely appointed and the bathroom was quite superb. We found the location great for views over the city and it was quite fascinating to watch the cruise ships come in and out, but it is a bit of a hike to get to the main touristy areas. Plus points - interesting "liner" concept and good standard of rooms, excellent buffet breakfast and (for a city centre hotel) great views. Minus points - pool, what pool - more of a footbath, location slightly off the beaten track (10-15 mins walk to any shops/restaurants)
