Facing the sea, and with a total area of almost 2 hectares, the hotel building rises up on the western side of the rectangle that constitutes the World Trade Center complex. The remaining 3 sides of the rectangle house convention halls and offices, as well as an executive club and a shopping centre. The hotel also has a lobby lounge and a piano bar, featuring live music every evening of the week.

For moments of relaxation, the Eurostars Grand Marina has a gymnasium with a sauna and jacuzzi, and an outdoor swimming pool (open 1 June to 5 September), with fantastic views of the city, both of which are on the eighth floor, and available to hotel guests only on a first come first served basis. The hotel also has a hairdressers and a massage service.

The establishment offers four halls with capacities of 80 to 1,000 people, as well as the exclusive hall, the Grand Marina Club. With natural light and a view of the harbour, all of the halls are air conditioned and have facilities for videoconferencing and computer connections, and include the latest audiovisual systems. The hotel can also offer its guests the 34 meeting rooms of the WTC and its auditorium for up to 430 people.

Location

The hotel lies at the end of La Rambla and forms part of Port Vell (the Old Port). From here, you can walk up La Rambla to Plaza Catalunya, Barcelona´s hub, and on to the prestigious Passeig de Gracia, home to two of Gaudí´s most famous buildings, Casa Battló and the Pedrera. This route is also great for shopping, with many of the streets lined with exclusive boutiques.

I had invited my parents to the Grand Marina, and the experience was spectacular: starting with the welcome chanpagne (I had only mentioned that the travel was a birthday present), the service continued to be outstanding. The breakfast terrace is stunning too - orange trees on the second floor- truly nice. At least you can open the windows (unlike at the Arts Hotel).. Read review

The king room was modern, beautiful and comfortable with a lovely, but narrow, terrace facing the city. The bath was luxurious and the plush bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. We received delicious chocolates in our room on arrival and coupons for free glasses of cava from the hotel bar.. Read review

Reception staff were very helpful especially booking tables at nice restaurants. I recommend eating at a restaurant called 'les quinze nuits' because it was really good value and food was very nice.. Read review

Great location about 5-10 mins walk from the Ramblas (and therefore avoiding the noise and pollution of same). Spectacular room - spacious, clean, comfortable with an amazing view of the city. Fabulous bathroom with a huge shower and bath that both had jacuzzi jets. There was also an internal door in the room which separated the sleeping part of the room from a corridor to the outside door of the room so you didn't hear any noise from the corridor at night. Breakfast was great - huge selection and lots of freshly baked pastries and fresh juices. Bar snack food was expensive but good quality.. Read review
