Creta Suites address: Trumbicev put 9, Koutsounara, 20210

Creta Suites details: The resort looks like a traditional Cretan village, which is built in an amphitheatrical fashion, in the pictorial settlement of Koutsounari, a small village 8 kilometres east of Ierapetra, on a flourishing mountainside, offering a panoramic view of the village and the sea to our guests, which washes on one of the longest and most beautiful beaches of the area.

The 34 fully equipped suites, with large verandas and comfortable rooms, the ancient Greek names given to each suite, the nirvana, the unique sea view during the day and the form it takes under the moonlight, are enough to sail you off into different times.

The village of Koutsounari is picturesque, with narrow stone built alleys plumed with basil and other flowers, which spread around their scent. It imitates the set of an old Greek movie.

In our luxurious restaurant named Dionysus, you can taste the traditional Cretan dishes, Greek cuisine or any other kind of international food you like, that our Chef offers, while our Bar promises to offer you many nights of pleasure.

Our staff promises to service you with the warmth of Cretan hospitality, making your holiday unforgettable.

The A' Class hotel apartments Creta Suites has 34 apartments, suites with a panoramic view of the traditional Cretan village and the sea.

Location

The municipality of Agios Ioannis covers the area east of the municipality of Ierapetra, from the southern slope of the mountain "Thripti" or "Aori" as the locals call it, to the coast and it is the eastern most part of the county of Ierapetra.

Most of the 1,069 permanent residents live at the coastal villages and have occupations in farming and tourism.

The municipality consists of the following villages:

Koutsounari, a coastal village of 437 inhabitants, 10.5 kilometres east of Ierapetra, is the seat of the municipality. In Koutsounari, there is one of the longest and prettiest beaches of Ierapetra, with all of the tourist facilities.

Agios Ioannis, a small traditional village located at the slope of the hill "Katalimata" (500 metres). 17.7 kilometres from Ierapetra, with 38 inhabitants.

Ferma, a village close to Koutsounari with 579 inhabitants and also a popular tourist resort.

Agia Fotia, a small settlement, located in a picturesque cove, a short distance from Ferma to the east. It has 15 permanent residents and quite a few hotels and taverns.

Sights:
The gorge of "Milonas" with small water falls and not easily accessible.
Many chapels of architectural and historical interest.

Tourist facilities :
There are a lot of hotels of all classes, as well as bars and taverns especially at the beach of Koutsounari and Ferma. The place attracts a lot of visitors every year due to the clear sea, awarded with the blue flag by the EEC.

Shopping -
Handicrafts, local produce, herbs, cheeses, honey and local spirits are all available in the town's shops. Leather goods, lace, woven fabrics and shoes are also popular shopping items. Gold and silver jewelry are plentiful for that special purchase. Ierapetra, Agios Nikolaos and Sitia are additional nearby towns for an extra dose of Cretan "retail therapy".

Season and weather -
The main tourist season is from March to November. June to September is high season. April to May is a wonderful time to take a holiday in Crete as it is blooming season, green, flowering and beautiful. October and November is also a good period. It is still warm, but offers a more peaceful holiday.

Average day temperatures -
March - 14. May - 21. July - 25. August - 32. October - 21.

Average sea temperatures -
March - 12. May - 18. July - 22. August - 28. October - 19.

The city of Ierapetra has a nice, organised town, with a beautiful boulevard and some ancient places.
There is a lively shopping centre, mostly pedestrian zones only. Plenty of taverns.

Trips that we recommend:
Visit Spinalonga island on the north coast, Vai palm beach, only one hour from Ierapetra. Sitia in the east. Monastery Toplou, symbol of the resistance in the east. Zakros, the ancient Minoan site and the Valley of the Dead, a superb gorge. The beaches at Makrygialos. Do not forget to go on a cruise to Chrissi Island, the best but most forgotten island of Greece. Golden sand beaches are here. The village Mirthos is also advisable, as is the Lassithi Plain and the town of Agios Nicolaos. The beautiful church at Kritsa and the village where Greek actor Melina Mercouri made one of her famous movies. Paleokastro is a nice village near Sitia.
