Hotel Isabell - Gyor, Hungary     

Having stayed at this hotel last August, I pretty much knew what to expect. One receives a much better personable reception than from one of the larger chains such as Ibis, or Raba. Rooms are somewhat sparse (no coffee maker, smaller bath) but exceptionally clean and well designed. Refrigerator is stocked, and pay on the honor system. Even ice is provided if you ask for it. Met the manager this time, and Katalin is extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean dining and entry foyer, and breakfast is provided with the room. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and some other items are available 24 hours a day. The only charge I was not aware of is the 7 Euro charge added to the room if you do use the dining room for coffee other than at breakfast. I was not charged this the last time I stayed. A little difficult to find, so GPS is helpful. The surrounding area is somewhat rundown, but in some stages of recovery. Isabell was completely renovated about three years ago.Definitely an alternative to staying in Budapest, and a lot less traffic.

L'hotel est très difficile à trouver. L'environement est tres moyen, le quartier est à la mode sovietique aux immeubles délabrés. L'hotel est prope et climatisé et dispose d'un garage de 3 ou 4 voitures. Les amateurs de beurre au petit dejeuner en seront pour leurs frais,seule de la magarine est disponible. Le paiement se fait en Euro le prix en Forint hongrois semble inconnu pour le tenancier de l'hotel. Il est possible de régler en monaire locale mais le prix est recalculé en base Euro...donc double change !!!
