Before leaving to Paris for New Year's eve, I searched reviews on the internet about this hotel, I found 2 or 3 bad reviews from 15 total; one of these said that quote: "..., but were told that there was a 'technical problem' with our room. We were moved to another hotel down the road, which was serviceable, ...".
So we arrive finally to the Hotel Quality which was easy to find, the first thing we are told after we said our name, was literally there is a technical problem with our room... to me it sounded like a joke really, because I couldnt believe they would say exactly what I read here as a review :( it sounded like is first thing they say! the receptionist even said well its up to you if you want to take the hotel across the street or not... rude, but it was late we were tired, we took it...
My husband and I found important to let know this, to us it seems that they double booked our room... that there was not such problem... anyway... we were obviously moved to a hotel accross the street, in this new hotel you could see it was a bit different but still we had to pay the same rate (incl. breakfast though)... then the room smelled bad (lets say bareable for the night, could be fixed with a bit of parfum) we slept there...
The next night we got to go back to the Quality hotel, the room was nicer than the one last night, didnt have any smells and had a nice view of St. Agustin's church... we got a champagne for the 31st and my husband also managed to get us the breakfast for the next day... of course was for the problems caused to us on moving hotels for our first night on Dec. 30th. BTW as we returned, the receptionist (different from the night before) said to us 'the technical problem' with our room (turned into) was that their system double booked the room for the first night and that this happens in almost every hotel in paris (to me it didnt happen before, high season or not...)
Our advice would be to not go to this hotel on high season, avoid to get moved, this hotel is nice when you want to stay in a central place and there is less chance to get moved. When you read that the 'technical problem' happens once its suspicious, twice tried to avoid it...

I booked this hotel room for my boss to stay at on an overnight business trip and when he got there he was given a key to his room but when he got there the door was wide open and there was a maid cleaning the room. She scolded him for coming in to the room before she was done, so he went to get another room but the maid should have cleaned this one first. The room was just dirty; it looked nothing like the room looked on hotels.com. It was over priced and over rated.
