Location

Countryside, Near Train Station, Panoramic View

The hotel is ideally situated on the shores of Clew Bay, where Westport's bewildering array of brightly coloured shops and restaurants jostle for attention along its tree-lined streets. Designated one of Failte Ireland's heritage towns, it nestles under the shadow of the imposing Croagh Patrick Mountain and overlooks Clew Bay in County Mayo.

The town's other attractions include the famous Westport House and Country Estate, one of Ireland's top day visitor attractions. This fine Gerogian mansion, home of Lord Sligo, is well worth a visit and is open to the public from April to September each year.

I booked a Grand deluxe room in the new wing for my husband's 50th birthday. The room was fantastic, the room was huge with a huge bathroom and a Jaccuzi. On arrival at the hotel there was a box of chocolates and a card for my husband. Then at dinner that evening his dessert had Happy Birthday piped around the plate in chocolate. Very nice discreet touches. The food in the restaurant was lovely, I had booked a table for the evening but had forgotton to ask for a table at the window until we arrived, the hotel was very busy and they were unable to fulfil this request for dinner. But we had a window table for the two mornings for breakfast. I had the Pancakes with Maple Syrup just divine !!!!!!!! We also used the pool and I had a spa treatment. The pool has a massage area which I found the water pressure to be very strong, but I am sure it was doing my circulation some good. I had the Marine Collagen facial which was fab, I felt as if I had a mini face lift and the therapist gave me a little goodie bag of samples to take home. All in all a lovely hotel, lovely food, and lovely staff. We will be back.

First the Staff - Deirdre and Miriam in reservations are amazing. They bent over backwards to accommodate me and my partner. I had some special requests which they dealt with excellently and went above and beyond what I expected The staff made our whole stay very special, from the waiting staff in the restaurant to the two receptionists downstairs. All the staff were so helpful. I have stayed in allot of 5 star hotels in Ireland and abroad and the staff here were the nicest yet. This hotel is only 4 star( It should be 5) The facilities - the SPA Don’t miss the pool and the thermal suite - The restaurant, the food for breakfast is excellent, fry is the same as anywhere but the other stuff you can get cooked up by the chef is excellent especially the Clonakility pudding which you can order with any of the other dishes! Dinner was really great, I had a stunning steak my partner a fantastic cod dish - really good. I stayed in the Master Suite - Its absolutely fab 2 32inch Sony Bravia LCD screens in living area and bedroom and a built in LCD Tv in the Jacuzzi in the bathroom with a water proof remote!! Each Room is massive with ample room. Main living area had fireplace and included cool BOSE home cinema system. The main bedroom had its own BOSE sytem too. Quality of finish in the room was excellent and included plenty of couches etc. There are two bathrooms one small and the other enormous with Jacuzzi with TV and shower, his/hers sinks etc.. Location: You could walk to Westport but I didn’t from the hotel. 5euro in the taxi to the centre
