The privately owned Hotel Chariot, situated south of Aalsmeer town centre, is a hotel perfectly suited to meet both the high standards of business travellers, and the needs and wishes of tourists visiting the Amsterdam area. The hotel offers 28 spacious rooms, which have all been decorated and equipped with much care and attention.

From primary school to prime hotel
The Chariot Hotel in Aalsmeer once housed the Immanuel School, and was bought by the Koster family when the school ceased its activities, and the property came on the market. The stately structure of the former Christian primary school, situated on the Oosteinderweg in the eastern part of the internationally renowned flower-trading town of Aalsmeer, was subsequently totally transformed to become the charming and contemporary hotel it is today. The building's facade still retains the style of the 1916-1917 period it dates from however, in keeping with owner Carmen Koster-Unger's love for character and a nostalgic ambience. This is also evident in the hotel's approach to its guests, as the meticulous attention to detail in its 28 rooms and its personal approach and standard of service testifies.

I was there twice, in December 2005 and December 2006. In 2005, we had a very clean, nice room, a bit small. We had a hard time with the cleaning lady, every day, she was leaving the room window open. So at night, when we came back, the room was bloody cold. After four times explaining to the front desk, we finally got a room that was warm with the windows closed. Breakfast is expansive. Despite that, great room. In December 2006, we had the ''honeymoon room''. They had upgraded us. Big big room, beautiful bathroom and warm. We really loved it. My mom was there in October 2007 and everything was perfect. Nice and friendly people at reception. I recommend it and I would go back at the Chariot.

A very clean and welcoming hotel - rooms on the road side of the hotel are bigger but noisier - those at the back are more 'cosy' but very quiet. Large bathroom with shower. Large TV, plenty of wardrobe space for a weekend break and a really, really large and comfortable bed. Also the bedside tables were large. Made it a bit difficult to get up in the morning. Unfortunately the local public transport is poor so getting into Amsterdam was quite slow and costly. However breakfast was very good with a very attentive smiley guy on hand to meet our every need. It just needs moving closer to the city ......
