Hylands Hotel - Coventry, United Kingdom 

This is a dirty, noisy, smelly hotel with little or nothing to justify anyone staying here. The decor is very tired and the hotel looks like something out of the 1970s, but more worryingly the carpets are dirty and the bed (room 65) was extremely uncomfortable with springs poking through the mattress. The headboard was covered with greasy stains from previous occupants' hair. When I turned on the bathroom light the bathroom fan started and would not stop for the next hour and 15 mins until I called reception who sent an odd-job man to repair it. He said this was not the first time this problem had occurred, but in different rooms. There was an extremely unpleasant smell from the kitchens below, which permeated into the rooms from the corridors. I would not advise anyone to stay here, you would be better off almost anywhere else. Find a hotel which cares about cleanliness, and upkeep of its property.
