Stayed here after a wedding. The room was Ok, but was in the new part of the hotel, which seemed miles from the reception. The one thing which really makes this hotel is its location and the views you get over the firth of Forth. If you can get a room with a view do get it otherwise you will only have gorse bushes to look at out your window. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, as although we were not particularly early on a satuday morning and were still well within the advertised time for breakfast but the selection was poor.

My husband decided to whip me off for a night away and chose the Queensferry Hotel as it was one we had viewed for our wedding. We arrived on a very wet and windy day and got a bit lost as the reception had been moved but staff were quick on hand to direct us to the right place even offering to look after our bags while we trailed through. Check in was quick and efficent. We were directed to our room on the second floor. Unfortunately we realised our room hadn't been made up and was in a mess from the previous occupants. But reception quickly rectified this and took us to a new room very quickly while giving us a free drink for the inconvience. Our room had lovely views of the bridges and the water. It was a nicely decorated room with twin beds which were made into a double and for once a lovely mattress. The bathroom was spotless with complimentry toiletries. The bar and restaurant double up and the bar service was good taking our orders and being prompt with them. The menu for the restaurant. The restaurant was quiet and it did tell us on the menu it would be around 20 minutes for courses to be made as they were cooked from scratch. The meal was lovely and the staff were attentive as well as chatty. They were happy to make me a dessert of my choice when I wasn't happy with the choices. One comment we both made was how for once there was no noise from round about us and we didn't hear any of the rooms round about us even although they were occupied. Breakfast was a cold buffet and we could choose to have a cooked breakfast with all items including haggis or choose a selection. I chose Tatties scones, sausage, mushrooms and bacon and got 2 of everything even though I only wanted 1 of the items. We also got offered tea or coffee and got 8 pieces of toast. Check out was quick and easy too. The staff were so friendly it's a definite to go back. We both commented on how the addition of a spa would be fabulous.
