Great place for us - we used to live nearby, but now live in France and came for a holiday with our dog. Perfect!! Good walks in the country a few minutes away - a few miles from the county town of Oakham, Rutland. The accommodation is in a separate block, clean rooms, well appointed for the price - with a Wifi computer connection. The pub sells very good real beer, has an open fire, has good food, and lots of locals in the bar at night. It also had wonderful home made pickled onions!!!!! We booked directly with the pub - this turned out to be ?20 per night cheaper than any so-called "deal" via an Internet hotel booking site!!!
