On the positive side the hotel is modern, safe and attractive. The staff is efficient and courteous, if not especially friendly. The AC might have been good enough for most people and they also had a large electric fan I used. It is about 4 blocks to a square with many major bus routes. breakfast is served outside in a nice courtyard and is bountiful if a little boring (same thing every day).
On the negative side, I found the hotel pricey. I would have liked some feature like a small pool to justify the cost. I have lived and travelled extensively in Europe. My single room while well designed was perhaps the smallest I have ever had. The hotel was clearly not full and I stayed 8 nights so they could have easily put me in a double room. There were no drawers. Suitcases had to go under the bed which was one hard mattress on a wooden frame. The bathroom was modern but not designed well so the door presented a problem. The room had one ill-placed window so it was dark. I had no chair.
The courtyard is beautiful but fairly boring. No one was ever there except for breakfast. I would have preferred a roof top setting or outside bar to people watch. The courtyard would be nice if you had small kids or family staying in several rooms.
I stayed in the Albergo del Senato Hotel beside the Pantheon
in Dec. I liked that hotel and the that area much better. Campo de Fiori near the Ponte Sisto was mostly tourist trap restaurants filled with Americans and Australians.
In short, I might go back to Sisto Ponte but only for a better price.
