Hotel Reina del Mar - El Arenal, Spain 

Before I start I will give you a little background about my family, 1 child aged 4 and myself and my wife in our early- mid thirties. Go to Majorca around 3 times a year to various different resorts and have done now for over 8 years. This has got to be the noisiest hotel in Majorca by far, the people in the hotel (which I think is a Spanish club 16-20’s hotel) were unbelievably noisy and ran riot the 7 days we were there. From running along the roof of the bar to thronging things from the 6th floor into the pool when there are kids and other people occupying it! Complained numerous times to be told “ I know” by the reception staff. No security and only 1 reception person on at night the kids and adults ran riot. There is a road that runs up the side of the hotel that is a one way system from the beach and has to be the busiest and noisiest road I have experienced. Food was (wait for it) horrendous. For breakfast you have chips and pork cutlets ( I kid you not) along with various cereals and salad. Fried eggs some days and bacon others but on a whole not much choice. Evening meal was always pizza and pasta with ether fried meat (rolled up ham, battered and fried) or some other meat dish. Most looked like it had came out of a tin from the cheapest supermarket. Salad and a choice of yogurts to finish. Again not much choice and not very appetising. Rooms are good with the only compliment going to the maids who visit you every day to clean and make your beds with a smile. We had booked to stay for 14 nights but left and moved to another hotel (at a cost to ourselves) after 7 nights because none of us could sleep. Please do yourself a favour, and don’t book this hotel, I know its cheep but trust me there really is not much about this hotel you will enjoy.
