Go Hotel Shnelli - Tallinn, Estonia 

This is a great price-quality option in Tallinn. The rooms are clean, modern and bright, the location is perfect (a 10 minute walk to the centre - max) and the staff extremely competent and friendly. They allowed us to leave our tent there for a couple of weeks free of charge while we were in Russia and we had no problems picking it up on our return. The breakfast buffet is nothing out of this world but decent and the cafe is very nicely decorated. There is nothing seedy at all about staying in this hotel next to the station. I would strongly recommend it. A bargain.

Modern property, well located by the train station, right opposite the Old Town. The harbour is a straightforward 20 minute walk down the road, ideal for a day trip to Helsinki by ferry. My room was a reasonable size, designed in a contemporary IKEA-like style, somewhat basic but perfectly adequate, with an exceptionally comfortable bed (what else can you ask for?) and satellite TV. No safe in the room, only at reception. The bathroom was small, with shower only. Being at the back of the building, I had a fairly uninspiring view of the railway tracks. Luckily, there are very few arrivals or departures during the day, none at night time – bad news for trainspotters, great news for light sleepers! Noise from elsewhere was minimal. Buffet breakfast was pretty decent, except for the tasteless, watered-down fruit juice. Other than that, enough to choose from including cereal, yoghurt, salads, hot and cold meats, eggs, toast, and tea and coffee. No pastries though (sigh!). I would have no problem to stay at the GoHotel Shnelli again, although I might as well try another similarly priced hotel next time.
