The hotel is in a great location just a stones throw from central station and within easy walk of the city centre. Our room overlooked the Tivoli gardens. The room itself was adequate although tired looking with cupboards that didn't close properly and dingy paintwork. The bathroom was dated but had it been kept scrupiously clean would have been fine but over our four day stay a scum ring around the handbasin was never removed. The rest of the hotel was fine. All the public areas including the restaurant were good. The breakfasts were excellent and we ate one dinner there which was good but not great. Overall quite a decent hotel but the rooms are in need of a makeover.

This hotel is smaller than it looks in the photo - I think because of the enormous buildings all around which rather dominate the scene. In many ways its location is ideal - very close to the railway station and just across the road from Tivoli gardens, a short walk from many of the major tourist attractions, and with lots of activity close by. Reception was friendly and courteous with English speaking staff just like everywhere else in Copenhagen. There is a charming old fashioned glass lift. My room overlooked the railway, which was interesting though I lost out on the views. The room was clean and had not one but two comfortable chairs, plus an amazing chair made of clear plastic at the desk. Bathroom was modern Scandinavian, with a strange flat wash hand basin and a magnificent shower. Now we come to the downside. The food in the restaurant at dinner was appalling - uncooked vegetables and really dreadful. I complained to the waiter who said there would be no charge for the coffee, which was better than nothing, I suppose. I also tried eating in the bar one evening, which was also a mistake: the menu is very limited and the food was both unappetising and difficult to see what one was eating because of the low levels of lighting in the bar. I think it is significant that with crowded restaurants all around the hotel restaurant is empty at night. Breakfast was a good and friendly operation and well managed as long as you did not want hot scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. On only one of the five days did I have an even warm plate, and cold scrambled egg soon loses its appeal. Housekeeping was not brilliant - one morning I had a shower and left the towels on the floor as a sign to change them. The end result of this was that I ended up with no towels until I rang to complain and the problem was fixed with great speed and effectiveness, plus apologies. The next day I found that there were no glasses in the room and went to the front desk, where the clerk very kindly found me two glasses from the bar so that I could drink iced tea from the 7/11. Air conditioning did not seem to work too well in the room - most of the time it was dreadfully hot even with the stat set on 15C, and I had to keep the window open to let the noise of the trains in. It was only in the middle of the night that I woke up feeling cold! Had the food been good and the housekeeping and air conditioning excellent I would not have hesitated to classify this hotel as excellent.
