"Great location, good hotel"

We booked a room at the Clarion Hotel Neptun for one night after we extended our time in Copenhagen. Our first hotel was so awful, we knew that if we wanted to stay in Copenhagen, we would have to change hotels. This hotel was so much better, I can't even describe it. First of all - great location!!! Enough cannot be said about that. Second, nice and friendly staff who helped us out when we needed to get out of the first hotel. Third, our room was nice - loved the bed - and while a little small, it was enormous compared to the other hotel we stayed in. Copenhagen is expensive and the hotel prices are high. We tried to stay in a budget hotel and were horrified. The Clarion Hotel Neptun saved us for only $30 more a night!!!

"Great Location - Cozy room."

Copenhagen is expensive as it is... so when it came to searching for a hotel - I had to do some major research. This hotel was as fair priced as I could find, yet in a great location, and the room turned out to be quite cozy. Let's start with the room. Our room was located in through a doorway outside, next to the Lobby entrance. It was a fair sized room, the bed sheets looked a little worn, but the pillows were soooo fluffy and comfortable. The bathroom looked much older and could use some renovations, but it's a bathroom, and it served its purpose. We had a decent view of a courtyard and that was a nice bonus. The door looked rather old, and we could hear people as they came in and out slightly. The main reception area to the hotel was very nice. We didnt have breakfast there, because it was not included =(. But there was free internet access nearby - but only one computer. The people who worked the reception area were very nice and helpful. Location - This was definitely a plus for us! We were basically on the same block as Nyhavn. So all we had to do was exit the hotel, walk right up the block, make a right and another right to get to the other side of the block...and there it was: access to a strip of restaurants and pubs. At that point, it didn't matter that the hotel didnt' have breakfast, because we were in definite walking distance of food. From there, we were able to walk to Stroget and walk through the shops... when then would lead us towards Tivoli anyways.... We spent the majority of our time there on foot! At other times, we took a hop on-hop off bus to get to other areas such as the little mermaid. If still affordable, we would probably stay here again for location.

"Wonderful hotel & restaurant"

I stayed at this hotel on business when another my company usually books was sold out. My initial stay was for a week. The room was rather small, but that is typical for Danish hotels (even particularly nice ones). Room service, from the adjacent Gendarmen Restaurant (1 star in Michelin), was excellent. The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. When I was ill, they arranged for me to go to the nearest hospital and called ahead to say I would be arriving. Consequently, when I had the option to return to Copenhagen a couple of weeks later, I stayed at the Neptun. The location of the hotel is perfect: one block over from Nyhavn and one block down from the waterfront. In addition, although Nyhavn is quite touristy, the street where the Neptun is located has more of a family feel - there is a small children's neighbourhood park outside the hotel which adds community atmosphere. The staff at the Gendarmen Restaurant also had a small ceramic bowl outside the restaurant filled with plastic ducks - it added another whimisical touch. The hotel offers one free Internet connection/computer in the sitting room next to the lobby. The Financial Times was available daily, in addition to 2 Danish papers, and either the International Herald Tribune or USA Today were also on offer. Some of the rooms face an interior courtyard, which although quite pretty, houses the breakfast area & lacks natural light. Ask for a room facing the street or the alley to get some sunshine. The staff did not hesitate to make great restaurant recommendations and were helpful with directions. The staff were happy to call taxis. They sell postcards at the front desk and have a postage machine handy to frank the mail. They also had lots of phone converters available and some general electronic converters. Maid service was efficient; laundry service was great. All-in-all, a very "hygge" (or cozy) experience at the Hotel Neptun.

"Breakast to die for!"

This is a great choice of hotel for a city break to Copenhagen. It has everything you could want. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is just perfect ~ a few minutes walk from Nyhavn with all the restaurants and also just around the corner from the Palace. This hotel is certainly not in the 'red light' district. The breakfast here is amazing ~ you name it, they had it! Even down to vitamin tablets! Hot food, cold food, fantastic danishes ~ 5 courses for breakast you don't need to eat at lunchtime! We would definitely stop here again and would recommend it highly.
