ZIMMER:

Hotel Hansa is located about 400 meters from the main train station. It's easy to find: you exit the main entrance of the station and head straight up Bahnhofstrasse. After a ten-minute walk you should be able to find it on your left, a beautiful white structure with porches.
As it is a ten-minute walk from the station, if you are carrying only a small bag or backpack (as I was) it is walkable, otherwise it will make sense to either hire a taxi (for the short ride that it is) or to take the bus the one or two stops until the hotel. It is NOT the sort of distance that you want to be dragging a suitcase too.
I checked in and was given a room right away, far away from the elevator and not facing the main street. In any case, the glass is double-layered and prevents much of the outside noise, especially the occasional ambulance sirens, outside.
The room had a TV with German channels and CNN and France 5 Monde, a regular sized single bed (1,40m?), a shower with excellent water pressure and wide basin, and a writing desk. It was clean and well maintained, and the comforter was thin but warm.
After checking in I walked down to the central shopping area, where department stores, drugstores, clothes shops and all kinds of stores are concentrated (maybe five minutes walk). There are some supermarkets nearby to buy water or fruits, and the Christmas market (in December) is easy to find, you simply continue down Bahnhofstrasse street past the hotel and straight to the marketplace, maybe five minutes walk.
The famous Roman baths are a substantial distance away, so I would recommend you catch a bus to get there; besides, on the way back, it might be better than to walk outside in the cold.
As for the rate, I booked through the home page and found a Best Rate for junder 50 EUR, breakfast not included. If you are looking to catch an early train to Frankfurt the next morning you can buy coffee and croissants in the train station.
